- Clean your soap dish of any soapy residue by quickly scrub your dish under running warm water and allow to air dry. Never place your wood dish in the dishwasher or submerge your dish in the sink. To disinfect and clean your wood soap dish, wipe it with full-strength white vinegar.
- Best wood types to be used are the ones with high moisture tolerance, such as cypress, olive wood, teak, bamboo (to be precise: bamboo is a grass species, not a wood species)… To get a durable soap dish, you should apply wood wax, oil or some other water-resistant finish.
